Highway 1 (The Pacific Coast Highway) is such a treasure of unbounded beauty that she is worth the constant work to save her from herself. Road crews cleaning up mud slides, rock falls, disappearing stretches that melt into the sea. Like all great beauties - she's high maintenance.
