Spent Feb. 6-8 with Patty in Asheville and West Asheville, NC. We saw some beautiful country.

Way prefer West Asheville to Asheville itself. I thought Asheville was going to be a Southern version of Woodstock (artist colony Woodstock, NY) but not at all - Asheville is a CITY with a capital C. Even West Ashe is way bigger than Woostock, but it does have the small town/artist colony flavor. I did like W Ashe very much. Traveling vehicle was making noise in the front end - so had it checked out by the sweetest mechanic on earth who runs a tire shop in W. Asheville. It turned out to be insignificant - and the guy charged us $10 for his time! Really quite charming! After running necessary traveling errands we got a late start - maybe 1pm, and started down the back roads drove through some amazing mountains must have been the Appalachians - not sure, but it was beautiful! Arrived in Thomson, GA last night.
